The things that I've done, and the things that I'm doing.
About Me
Hello! I'm Lily Wilkerson, a civil engineering student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. As you'll see on this site and on my socials, I'm fascinated by the infrastructure that keeps the world moving, and I've devoted a significant portion of my life to mapping and exploring as much of it as I can. I've been using GIS software for over a decade, working on hundreds of projects from school district boundaries to nationwide precinct data. Born in Texas, I spent the first eighteen years of my life travelling the sprawling Lone Star State and developing a barbecue addiction. College brought me north to urban Minneapolis, a lively environment and a much-needed break from the scorching hot summers. I'm glad to call the Land of 10,000 Lakes my home.
While you're here, take a look the projects featured on this site, and check out the shapefiles I've digitized and made available for download.
Featured Projects
In 2020, I started on a mission to map every sidewalk in the City of Austin on OpenStreetMap. I personally completed over 15% of the city before passing the torch to other users.
The ASP has a dedicated page on this site.
I was a member of the OpenStreetMap Foundation from 2021 to 2024 due to my contributions for the ASP.
Back in high school, one round of a video game launched a small business. Me and my partners sold shirts, stickers, and even a card game based on our delightfully simple "mow" character. Over the course of a year, we spread from one school to nearly a dozen states, selling hundreds of shirts along the way.
